Absolute rubbish compared with the coffee and chicory it replaced. Thin, watery, tasteless, but the same price as the old version - which itself went up 50 per cent in two years. We are being ripped off by Bushells.
Changed texture, taste and let’s not forget price. Tastes and looks watery . Why changed ? After over 100 years of having a bottle in the house it will be removed from shopping list. Please explain.
I have been having a Bushells SWEETENED COFFEE & CHICORY ESSENCE iced coffee for lunch every day for about 40 years. I noticed the label was different on the last bottle I bought, so I bought 1 instead of 6. And I was right - the new Coffee Syrup is disgusting, unsweetened, thin, watery and lacks any flavour except a quite bitter taste. Why on earth would you do this to such a successful product?? I have binned the new one and will never buy anything from Bushells again, I am so disgusted. I have no doubt it will not be long before it has disappeared from the shelves altogether. How dare you put an almost identical label on it and pretend it is the same and waste our money. I would give ZERO stars if I could.
Too watery and the flavour I've grown to love has gone. Why have you done this? To keep the suits up top happy? To win over a new generation in taste? This "new" concoction will cost you more in lost sales and will gain you no new customers. What an utter mistake this will be. In the end you will shutter the whole endeavour as a misstep and probably won't even bring back the old Coffee & Chicory Essence. I'm 32 and my nanna would make me iced coffees all the time, regale me with stories of how she would get by with a bag of broken biscuits and her Auntie's coffee cake during wartime. That history is lost and I can't replicate the flavour for my own kids and nephews. Thanks Bushells.
I actually used to walk past the bottles on the top shelf in Woolworths and give a little smile to myself because they hadn't changed after all those years. It sounds crazy, I might be the only one who does that sort of thing but I have to hold on to the little things to stop me from going mad sometimes. Now yet another thing is chipped away...
Unless this is reversed, I can confidently say I won't touch another Bushells product again and that hurts to say because I know they work out of Sydney and I like to keep business local.
It's horrible, no where near the nice taste of the other chicory & coffee essence, zero stars
